Exceptional and important bronze candelabrum from Ottoman Empire,
Late 14th to 15th century.
The candelabrum consists of a circular piriform or bell-shaped base, and a body divided into several sections separated by 4 rings or flattened balls.
*The binet has an opening, also called the light, which was used to remove the melted wax. Its rectangular shape has been progressively deformed due to frequent and everyday use over the centuries.
*The second segment from the top is finely and subtly pierced / openworked with geometric decorative patterns.
Very good overall condition considering its dating period: a few piercings at the base of the candelabrum and one for the shaft of the candlestick, and small accidents around the perimeter of the circular edge of the base, but these do not affect its readability. Exceptional patina of the bronze, particularly on the hollow reverse of the bell base.
This candelabrum is especially exceptional for its dimensions.
Around 21cm diameter by 34cm high
