"Cherub Shelf"
Decorative element in carved wood from the 18th century transformed into a wall shelf. The central body represents two busts of cherubs turning their backs to each other, they hatch from a horn of plenty richly carved with foliage and finished with a beautiful and strong scroll. In the center in the upper part, two falls of flowers in the shape of bells, in the lower part an incomplete garland of flowers, the right part being missing (see detailed photos). Delicate ogee plinth carved with a frieze of acanthus leaves. The flat part serving as a shelf is a more recent element, its color remains similar to the rest of the object, it has two suspension rings fixed to the back. Dimensions of the shelf: 44 cm X 13 cm. Light brown color and beautiful patina of time. Some old traces of bites from wood-eating insects, now disappeared. On the back of the incomplete wrought iron consolidation elements from the 18th century century. Note: good quality of the sculpture.
