A student of Antoine Jean Gros, Pierre Girard exhibited paintings at the Salon between 1827 and 1872. He received the silver medal for the Prix de Rome between 1833. He offers us here a beautiful botanical study, with a Mullein represented on the motif in its natural environment, in the middle of the forest.
