"Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze And White Marble Mantelpiece Set"
Louis XVI style gilt and chiseled bronze and white marble mantelpiece set dating from the end of the 19th century. The clock is decorated with a draped woman and a cherub. The terrace is decorated with a bas-relief of playing putti. The dial is white enameled. It is accompanied by a pair of white marble and gilt bronze candelabras with two candlesticks carried by a child. The mechanism is in working order but will need an overhaul: it works but stops from time to time. The key and the pendulum are present.
The rear glass of the movement is broken (see photos) and some chips on the marble are to be noted. Wear to the gilding is to be noted but the condition of the whole remains good.
