Oil on canvas, signed and dated November 1965. Takashi SHIMIZU (1897-1981) is a Japanese painter and sculptor who stayed and studied in Paris from 1923 to 1928. Student and close to A. BOURDELLE, he frequented GIACOMMETTI, ZADKINE or FOUJITA. He exhibited in the various Parisian salons during this period. Back in Japan, he taught and had an important role in Japanese cultural life. This painting is in good original condition, a small old restoration. It is a 6F format (31 x 43). Shipping included for mainland France.
