18th century basin, red copper bed warmer, handcrafted. The motif of the lid is hammered and openwork in the round. It has as an original and unusual theme an animal that seems to be a sea monster with scales that spits flames (a sort of dragon). The motif is related to the object that receives still red embers coming out of the fire, used to warm the sheets in winter.
