On the stretcher, the name Quinton is indicated. It could therefore be the painter Clement Quinton (1851-1921).
This artist was fond of rural landscapes. His work is linked to the Barbizon school by his way of constructing landscapes. He later adopted the treatment of light specific to the Impressionists. He exhibited in the United States, at the international exhibition in Chicago in 1893, then in New York in 1903. He received the Palmes Académiques. Clement Quinton's paintings can be found in various museums.
This painting has been restored and framed.
