Said to be a navy or officer's box on a voyage forming a mahogany writing desk, brass fillets and ingot molds. Work from the Restoration period, mid-19th century. It opens to unfold a leather-covered writing desk. It reveals compartments for mail, for quills and 2 crystal and brass inkwells. Beautiful object to complete an Empire set or a naval collection. Good general condition, french-varnished mahogany cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker. It is complete with its original key. One of the mail compartments does not lock.
