"Large Sofa. End Of The 19th Century."

Large composite style sofa with two unequal headboards. Walnut and velvet upholstery. This large seat, visible from all sides, of Renaissance influence by the sculpture, rather Directoire in form, rests on four sheathed legs, sculpted on the front and topped with a caryatid and an atlante; the other motifs represented are leafy rosettes, interlacing branches with flowers and leaves, ribbons, cabochons and sorts of jagged piastres. Offered in excellent condition both of frame and upholstery, this sofa is of very good quality. Second half of the nineteenth century.
