Jean Louis Paul Gervais was a French painter, born in Toulouse on September 7, 1859[1] and died in the same city on March 11, 1944[2]. Paul Gervais studied from 1876 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, then at the Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1879, where he was a student of Jean-Léon Gérôme and Gabriel Ferrier. A member of the Salon des Artistes Français, he received numerous awards there. In 1936, he presented the Hunt of Adonis and the Hot Hand. Our painting represents an elegant woman from the 1920s.
