Songzi Guanyin figure in partially lead-glazed earthenware with turquoise/green, ochre, white and aubergine glazes. Guanyin sits in meditation on a rocky base, holding a child. Faces, hands, feet and the back of the base are left unglazed, giving a deliberate contrast with the glazed areas. A domestic devotional image typical of the late Ming. Minor age wear; small old chips (see photos). Underside unglazed with a vent hole.
Size: H 30 cm; W 17 cm; D 11 cm.
