Justo Ruiz Luna studied painting in Rome with the Spanish artist José Villegas, and later at a fine arts school in Spain. He first achieved success as a painter of maritime scenes. He later painted landscapes and genre scenes. His work was exhibited and acclaimed at the World's Fairs of 1891, 1892, and 1893. His paintings were sold in Spain, Italy, and the United States. Our work is signed on the right shoulder and probably dated below the signature. 19th century frame.
