Set Of 4 Bassanello Earthenware Coffee Cups

These four fine earthenware coffee cups, Empire style in both shape and hand-painted decoration, come from the earliest productions of the Bassanello manufactory and are rare pieces sought after for their historical and aesthetic value.

The “Ceramiche Bassanello” manufactory in Civita Castellana had a relatively short existence: it was active from 1949 to 1951 under the artistic direction of Renato Bassanelli, on behalf of Marquis Misciattelli. After 1951, the activity ceased and Bassanelli returned to Rome, devoting himself to the creation of unique pieces and various artistic collaborations. Due to the brevity of this production phase, objects bearing the Bassanello mark are today considered rare and of great interest to collectors.

Condition: good overall condition, with minor signs of use (small chips).
