Tempera painted panel from the 16th and 17th centuries depicting the chariot of Neptune or a prophet accompanied by an angel. Very pretty panel, perhaps the top of a very old chest, animated by a very dynamic scene simulating movement. Note the dynamism and realism of the horses and the angel balanced by the serenity of the majestic character.
