Complete in two volumes in 4, binding three volumes: "History of France under the reign of Louis XIV. Bookplate of Sigismond, former Count of Salm; published in Rotterdam, by Michel Bohm, 1718-1722, XVI-681 + table + 890pp. Half binding in blond calfskin, smooth spine with baroque irons, covered boards with reinforced corners, edges painted in red, title pieces in beige morocco and green volume number. 3 volumes combined in 2 large volumes. A little History Isaac de Larrey (1639-1719), went into exile in Holland after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, to freely exercise his religious beliefs, because he was a Protestant. His historical works earned him the title of Historiographer of the States General. Shortly after, the Elector of Brandenburg , by offering the title of Court and Embassy Counselor to Larrey, attracted him to Berlin, where he died on March 17, 1719. The Bookplate of the Library with the arms of Sigismond, former Count of Salm and Reifferschein. Sigismond of SALM-REIFFERSCHEINT, Count of Lalm-Reifferscheidt-Bedbur (1735-1798). The Salm line is a noble family of Germanic origin, with roots dating back to the 11th century. The Salm family takes its name from the County of Salm, located in the Ardennes, a region that today extends over Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
