"Walnut Sheath With Claw Feet."
Late 19th century walnut sheath, decorated with sculptures representing lion heads and claw feet, gadroons, foliage and moldings inspired by the Henri II style. Its robust design allows the display of massive objects on a useful surface of the top of 37.7cm X 37.7cm (42.2 cm X 42.2 cm) with the molding of the perimeter. Original waxed patina finish in good condition according to its age. Molded but not carved back face. Maximum width on the ground (lion claw ends) 52 cm X 52 cm.
