The artist Lucien Genin was born in Rouen in 1894, died in 1954.
After studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, then at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the painter settled in Paris. Painter of Paris but especially of Parisians, he illustrates all the animation of the City of Light at this time.
He will make some trips to Brittany or the Côte d'Azur (Marseille, Cassis, Cannes and Villefranche-sur-mer, Douarnenez, Rosmeur...).
Genin lives and sells his gouaches in his neighborhood.
In 1932, one of his paintings won the Art Institute of Chicago prize.
Galerie Bernard, his new dealer, exhibits it regularly.
