Born in Béthune, died in Narbonne, French painter. Pupil of Cormon, frequented Jules Adler, Matisse. Lived in Holland, Perros Guierec and arrived in 1915 in Banyuls sur Mer (Maillol). He settled in Collioure where he took over Matisse's studio. He lived for 30 years in this port on the Vermeille coast. Pastel on bistre cardboard signed lower left, unframed, represents a farmhouse in spring, trees in bloom on the heights of Collioure. This painting is from around the end of 1920, beginning of 1930, undated. 4 figures.
