"Rémy Pagart, Groumph! Tall Sculpture In Metal, Foam And Synthetic Fur "
Rémy Pagart, GROUMPH! High Sculpture in metal, foam and synthetic fur Rémy Pagart first worked in decoration, interior architecture and design. It is this background that gave him a taste for working with materials; it is from their encounter that his works are born; reflection comes later. A DIY enthusiast by nature, even by profession, he develops new techniques as for his plastic paintings; stapling and padding rather than classic and polluting collage. His hairy characters populating his installations are not to be outdone (Hotel Europa "Bang-Bang" at the Gare Saint-Sauveur or his room "Monstrouille" for Lille 3000 Fantastic). Rémy Pagart defines himself more as a visual artist than an artist; he will talk to you more about artistic craftsmanship than the art market or simply to tell you that in his opinion, today, it is rather the market that makes art… Born in the 60s, he was nourished by Pop Art and the delusions of the 70s, hence his immoderate taste for color and pleasure. For him, creation is not done in pain but in joy and if possible with music at full volume.
