"Painting By Jacques Lagrange 1917/1995. Harvesting In Antibes In 1960"
This work by Jacques Lagrange is part of a series devoted to the study of harvests in Antibes. The artist was captivated by these workers caring for fruit trees, sometimes flowers in the greenhouses around Antibes. This was followed by a series of paintings in the most vivid colors, in these subtle harmonies which characterize the work of this artist throughout the decade of the 50s. We can say that none of the aerialists of the time succeeded in treating a subject with such consistency and such diversity.
