"Fisherman's Boxwood Obelisk: Ponts Et Chaussées Template, Circa 1900"
This pretty engraved boxwood, obelisk-shaped, pocket-sized, is a fishing mesh gauge, from the Tavernier-Gravet mathematical instrument manufacture in Paris, in use during 19th/20th century. Good condition, nice patina, made by a two-hundred-year-old house, both an object of measurement and curiosity.
