Japan, 19th century. Stoneware chawan (tea bowl) in a pale buff body on three small feet.
Side decorated with a dragon and baku in light-and-dark contrast, with several applied crabs in low relief; interior partly gold-lacquered.
Impressed seal “Toyosuke” to the base. Wear and rubbing from use; surface marks to the interior.
