"Raw Wood Table, France Circa 1950 "
Rectangular solid wood dining table, made in the 1950s. Its rustic construction, with pegged joints, evokes the simple forms of mountain furniture or regional cabinetmaking workshops. The top has a beautiful gray, irregular patina, highlighting use and the passage of time. The slightly inclined legs are connected by an X-shaped crossbar, asserting a discreet but expressive geometry. Paired here with stools by Charlotte Perriand and ceramics by Édouard Chapallaz, this table naturally dialogues with the wabi-sabi aesthetic and the world of post-war Alpine design. France, circa 1950
