"Embriachi Workshop, 15th Century, Bone Game Box"
The box is rectangular, inlaid with bone, green-stained bone, and boxwood. The Embriachi workshop was founded by Baldassarre degli Embriachi in Venice in the early 15th century. It specialized in boxes made from wooden carcasses mounted with small ivory or cow bone reliefs and bordered with Carthusian inscriptions. Bibliography: L. Martini (ed.), Embriachi Workshop.
