"Dart Cane Or Styletto, Defense Cane, Late 19th Century"
Cane known as "Styletto" or "Dart". This type of cane was a formidable and particularly discreet weapon. A sudden movement by throwing the tip of the cane forward allows the blade of 7,08 inches to come out, blocked by a notch. Once closed, a small metal flap hides the opening. The shaft of this one is made of rush. Similar canes are presented in the reference book by Catherine Dike on System canes pages 262, 263 and 264. The entire cane measures 35,43 inches. Datable to the end of the 19th century.
