Two Hesdin or Vron earthenware dishes decorated in blue monochrome with a figure on horseback on a herborized terrace, one marked: "A Foy"
Glazed reverse,
Eighteenth century.
Diameter: 31 cm.
Good condition
Traditionally, this type of cavalier is associated with Marshal de la Meilleraye, who successfully resisted the siege of Hesdin in 1636. These plates can be attributed to Hesdin or Vron.
