Miniature - Portrait Of A Gentleman In Elegant Negligee From The Louis XVI Period, Circa 1770
Very beautiful miniature representing a bust portrait of an elderly man sitting on a chair wearing an elegant dressing gown decorated with blue patterns. He holds on his knees a small toy dog, probably a toy spaniel, very popular in aristocratic circles, and in his right hand a gold box. Period gilt brass frame, period curved glass. In excellent condition, signed with a monogram to be deciphered, see photos. Dimensions: total diameter 7.5 cm.
