Extremely rare set of 5 volumes of L'ASTREE, a novel by Honore D'Urfe, in their contemporary green gilt vellum binding. The first part in Paris, published by O. de Varenne in 1615. The second part in Paris in 1610, published by Toussaint du Bray. 60 books in 5 volumes. Title, frontispiece of the original edition. Probable accidents, small gaps. In acceptable used condition. Height 26cm. Width of the 5 volumes 24 cm. The BÂTIE D'Urfe Loire museum does not have such a set. Museum-quality object.
