Theodore Haviland Limoges Porcelain Tea Or Coffee Cups With Gold Inlay
From the same craftsmanship as the famous Thistle service, a magnificent set of 4 coffee or tea cups and saucers and a milk jug in Limoges porcelain, the swollen and lively body finely decorated with raised gadroons. Each piece is decorated with a raised frieze in polished gold agate inlay. The friezes are highlighted by another frieze that stands out against the white background. The handles are entirely gilded with fine gold. Beautiful translucency of the porcelain. I am adding the matching coffee pot / teapot (2 tiny chips on the spout). The set dates from the end of the 19th century / beginning of the 20th century. The Théodore Haviland Manufacture was involved in all stages of production, both as manufacturer and decorator. Each piece bears the red printed decorator's mark "Théodore Haviland Limoges France" and several pieces also bear the manufacturer's initials "TH" (these initials surmounted by a brace and separated by a star). Dimensions: Cup: Height: 5 cm Diameter: 8.7 cm and 10.7 cm with the handle Saucers Diameter 14.2 cm Milk jug: height 10 cm Coffee pot / Teapot: height: 18.5 cm Very good condition. No wear to the gold or rubbing. A tiny chip on the base of a cup and the milk jug, very barely visible (see photos 4). Please note that I respond to all requests for my objects.
