"Louis XVI Period Lady's Secretary Stamped J.birkle"
Lady's secretary in rosewood and amaranth veneer, opening with a drawer in the upper part, a flap in the central part revealing four drawers, four niches and a green leather writing desk, ending with two doors in the lower part. The top is in original Ste Anne gray marble (restored, see photos). Work from the Louis XVI period, stamped J. BIRKLE (1734-1803), received master in 1764 and JME (Jurande des Maîtres Ebénistes).
