The artist finely restores the essence of Gothic architecture, recalling through its imposing columns, its slender vaults and its colored stained glass windows the grandiose and spiritual atmosphere of the cathedral. The light, filtered by the stained glass windows with shimmering hues, diffuses in subtle reflections on the age-old stones.
In the background, a candlestick diffuses a warm glow, creating an intimate contrast within the solemnity of the place giving the whole an intimate and deep atmosphere of meditation, of piety. Student of Royer and Alaux, exhibited at the Salon of French artists and Independents at the beginning of the 20th century.
