"Object Seditious Around 1820 - Napoleon I "
Small solid silver object - It is probably a mechanical pencil - engraved on one side with a bayonet rifle. A completely innocuous image. This side is in fact a sliding lid revealing a miniature figurine of Napoleon I inside. A fine and rare example of a seditious object allowing those nostalgic for the Empire to keep a representation of the Emperor on them without risk after the return of royalty. Dimensions: h. figurine 2.5 cm, l. case 6.6 cm
