"Art Deco Portrait / Lucas Robiquet"
A leading figure in late 19th-century Orientalism, LUCAS-ROBIQUET enchants with his subtle tones and realistic touch, very close to Vincenzo IROLLI. While his Algerian compositions command high prices, his metropolitan subjects, while retaining the same graphic qualities, are affordable and deserve special attention. The sensitivity and virtuosity of Marie LUCAS-ROBIQUET are fully expressed in this Art Deco period portrait. Pastel on fine canvas, period frame, certainly original, period glass. The frame requires restoration. Signed, circa 1920.
