Superb Louis XIV style writing table in fruit wood and marquetry, 18th century. Table mounted on 4 baluster legs connected by 2 spacers with a bobèche in the center. In the belt is 1 drawer. The top is mounted on coffers with 1 central marquetry panel decorated with a star made of light wood and ebony with on each side 1 panel with marquetry of fillets and squares in the corners. The edge of the top is highlighted with a corbin nose. Everything is in fruit wood and pegged. The bottom of the drawer was redone later as well as the grip button which is more recent. Some signs of use on the top: scratches. Stable and very solid furniture. This table can also be used as a console.
