De Montgon Original edition Year 1938 Book under transparent protection Marcel JEANJEAN (1893-1973), is a famous French illustrator more particularly prolific in the field of aviation. Mobilized in 1914, his talent as a draftsman was expressed in a newspaper from the front "Le Canard poilu". In 1917, he asked to serve in the aviation and became a reconnaissance pilot. He did not fail to capture moments of the daily life of his squadron in sketchbooks, at the end of the war he would release an album of sketches "Under the cockades, scenes of military aviation" (1919). Appointed official painter of the Air Department in 1933, Jeanjean continued a parallel activity as an illustrator for civilian publications.
