English Rococo Trumeau - Period First Half Of The 18th Century
English Rococo-style trumeau from the first half of the 18th century. The trumeau is composed of two parts: a lower drawer with a flap and a recessed upper part, usually with two doors and ending with a moulding. This particular piece of furniture served as a writing desk or a display cabinet, highlighting the wealth and social status of the family that owned it. The trumeau is lacquered and embellished with pastiglia decorations.
