In 1910, he took over the workshop of Arthur Lambrechts, founded in 1878, almost a hundred years after the closure of the workshop of Jacques Van der Borcht, the last representative of the ancient tradition. After his death, Suzanne Perot, with the help of one of his daughters, Georgette Lambin-Chaudoir, and his grandson Michel Borin, a decorator who graduated from the École d'Art and Métiers d'Etterbeek, continued this business until the death of Suzanne Perot. This is how the last Brussels manufacture ended, which alone had the right to use the *BB* (Bruxella in Brabantia) brand surrounding the red shield of the Brussels master tapestry makers and which can be found in the works of masters such as Leyniers, Van der Borcht, Reydams, or Van der Dussen.Marce TRUYENS (born in 1939)Modern tapestry around 1960, paintnoué wool, abstract composition, signed lower right and workshop monogram on the leftIn keeping with tradition, this magnificent tapestry has undergone a thorough cleaning by our experts at the Artisanal Workshop of the Galerie Lissier.
