Very beautiful oil on canvas by the Russian painter Maria Sergeevna BOTKIN, born in Saint Petersburg in 1870 and deceased in 1960. Painter, ceramist and designer. Daughter of Sergei BOTKIN. 1832-1889. Physicist and activist. Marie studied in Paris in 1890 and in Italy (1906-1908), known for her links with Odilon Redon. For whom she was the vases used by Redon for the series: bouquets of flowers. Redon made portraits of herself, including a pastel kept at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
