Son of the naturalist painter and member of the Institute Louis Marie Désiré-Lucas (1869-1949) and Marguerite Philippe, Maurice Désiré-Lucas was born in Vannes on February 6, 1900. Trained by his father, Maurice Désiré-Lucas grew up in a family of four children established in Vannes, then between Douarnenez, in Brittany, and Paris. A plein-air landscaper of very fine workmanship, this professional painter multiplies the views of Paris, the Riviera, Brittany as well as black Africa, thus pursuing the refined spirit of the paternal luminous art. Impressionist painter, he gives a large place to the skies.
