Ceramica Bassanello was founded in the 1940s by Marquis Paolo Misciattelli, a trained chemist, who converted the former stables of Orsini Castle into an innovative workshop. He developed a new white dolomitic ceramic blend, inspired by English faience, and launched an artistic production aimed at international export. The Bassanello factory closed in 1978.
The item for sale belongs to the early Bassanello production, which was more decorated than the later pieces that were mostly monochrome white.
