The KIKYO is a famous autumn flower, counted among the seven emblematic flowers of autumn under the name Asagao. In reality, its flowering begins in summer and ends in early autumn. Its flower is campanulate and has five teeth. Although generally deep purple, it is sometimes white, especially when cultivated. Among the cultivated varieties, the best known are Hina-kikyō, Sawa-kikyō, Iwa-kikyō and Chishima-kikyō. Thanks to rapid cultivation, these varieties are commercially available around May-June
