Charming dagger or small short sword dating from the 18th century, probably used as a court or ceremonial weapon. This type of weapon was often carried by officers or gentlemen, and sometimes used as a secondary dagger. Wooden handle covered with twisted brass wire Wrought iron guard with double curved quillon and knuckle bow, sober and functional. Faceted pommel, ovoid in shape, screwed, in the style typical of French or German productions of the second half of the 18th century. Straight, rigid and tapered blade, designed for thrusting. Original scabbard in blackened leather, decorated with a chape and a brass tip. 42cm long Very good condition
