Object description :

"Large Antique Gilded Wood Mirror - 19th Century"
Important mirror from a castle in Brittany (France) in carved and gilded wood, preserved in its beautiful original patina. The frame is decorated with an elegant pearl surround, deep grooves punctuated by crisscrossing ribbons. It is topped with an exceptional shell, framed by large foliage scrolls and delicate garlands of flowers. This mirror retains its original floor as well as a thick glittery mercury mirror, precious witnesses to its authenticity. A very decorative piece, it can be presented full-length in an entrance hall, placed on the floor, hung as an ornamental mirror or used as a trumeau above a fireplace. The marks of time on the tin and the gilding give it a unique charm, reinforcing its character and presence. The contrast between the richness of the carved details, the softness of its patina and its original format make it a rare and refined piece, ideal for enhancing a classic or eclectic interior. Dimensions: 140 cm high - 116 cm wide - 16 cm thick For Any information, additional photos or delivery details, please do not hesitate to contact us.
