André Hallet, 1890 Liège-1959 Kisenyi (Rwanda) is a Belgian post-impressionist painter, landscaper, Africanist; Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège from 1914 to 1918 with Adrien De Witte and Richard Heintz. In 1934, he embarked for Matadi in the Belgian Congo, commissioned by the Belgian government. Exhibited upon his return to Brussels in 1936. He also exhibited in London, Paris and New York. Works in museums in Brussels, Tournai, Louvain, Liège, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Paris, Belgrade, Kaunas, Ottawa and New York.
