Elegant painting portrait of a lady from the first half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a female half-length figure in sumptuous Baroque attire. The lady wears splendid jewelry and a plumed hat reminiscent of the iconography of 17th-century courtesans. Although the canvas is rectangular, the artist chose to frame the figure within an oval, a compositional device that creates a medallion or cameo effect, recalling the aesthetic of neoclassical miniatures. The 20th-century frame is carved and gilded, beautifully decorated, with some signs of aging. The artwork has already been restored with partial relining, replacement of the stretcher, and restoration of color in some areas. Overall, it is in good condition.
