Motherhood By Georges Giori
Artist: George Gori
This fascinating Art Deco sculpture was created in France around 1930; based on a design by Georges Gori , creator of exotic dancers and elegant Art Deco figures , who worked in Paris between the 1920s and 1940s.
In this work, despite the classical theme of motherhood , Gori does not focus on the tenderness of an embrace , but rather captures stylized movement through gestures and poses , just like the young mother's dress , fitted to the torso and pleated at the hem.
The elegant pose of the figure and the delicacy of her dress are rendered with striking precision.
Georges Gori (active 1920 - 1940) , metal , ivoirine and onyx , signed on the base "G.Gori".
Dimensions :
Height 53 cemtimeters
Length 70 cm
Depth 22 cm
