Quick description
Antique Virgin of devotion, wooden sculpture circa 1850.
Work of very fine craftsmanship, all in finesse.
Sulphide eyes, clothes in embroidered black velvet.
Probably a Virgin of the Seven Sorrows, or Mater Dolorosa.
The arms are articulated, the whole is fixed on its turned wooden base with marble effect paint.
Missing two fingers on the right hand, some snags on the textile, but overall in good condition with a nice patina of time.
