Juliaan Severin (1888-1975) was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (Belgium). In Belgium, he received advice from Edmond Verstraeten (1870-1956), while in France, in Paris, where he went during the First World War, he met the great master of Impressionism Claude Monet (1840-1926). Severin's work took a clear direction thanks to the valuable lessons he had learned.
