Léon Galand, whose full name was Léon Laurent Galand, born on April 18, 1872 in Montpellier and died on November 4, 1960 in Clichy. He was a student of Ernest Michel, Robert Delaunay, Gustave Moreau, Fernand Cormon and Joseph Blanc. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français from 1904 and won a gold medal and a 2nd prize in Rome, an honorable mention in 1903 at the Salon des artistes français, a third-class medal in 1909, a gold medal[2]. He was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1924. He also sent his works to the Salon d'hiver.
