"16th Century High Relief Sculpture Altarpiece"
Imposing altarpiece from the 16th century. Carved in high relief, it represents an assumption of the Virgin accompanied by four cherubs. Work of great finesse of execution! The positioning of certain limbs completely detached from the panel is to be underlined! This complex sculpture is also in perfect state of conservation, no element has been restored!!! Not even at the level of the fingers or the feet. This composition is also very balanced, the Virgin positioned in the center kneeling on a cloud with a cherub in each corner in a different posture. The central panel is flanked by two fluted pilasters supported by consoles, finished with capitals sculpted in scrolls. Overall dimensions: length 220cm / height 150cm / depth with cornice 32cm Dimensions of carved panel: 120cm / 120cm
